On Saturday, June 28th, 2014, Haisla First Nation became the 50th First Nation to ratify it’s community land code under the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management (Framework Agreement). Haisla now re assumes jurisdiction over their land and resources! The vote was an exciting one, with a huge show of support from the community. Of the 454 voters who cast a ballot, 95% voted in favour of regaining control of their community’s Land Governance under the Framework Agreement. Congratulations!
